Tales of one with time: Entry No. 20

First and foremost, I'd like to mention I've not payed the attention I believe my blog deserves to it in the last few days and am changing that as of this blog, I had quite a few things to do, but today having cleared the most important of them (The exposition of my thesis on the corruption of the mexican judicial system), I have some more free time to dedicate to it, Secondly I'd like to say that it's starting to become easier to write these, It's already number 20, not counting either the top 5's or the 2 introductory entries. This all said, on to the subject for the day: "Gay".

Now, "gay"is a word with many uses, but we're not going to treat any of such as the one, here we're going to the subject of how unjustly such term has been used for the last few years, namely how it's used mostly as a derrogatory term, or with such an inflection.

As a means to examplify this, I'll take my own experience with it: Today I was called gay, now of course what my mind went straight towards was: "Oh, why, thank you for noticing my great sense of fashion, how I am meticulous with my looks, the fact that I'm healthy and fit and also my way with women" on the other hand my friend who called me gay thought of something more like: "I feel threatened by your security so I'll try to establish my superiority by trying to diminish your manhood"; He wasn't successful in his attempt but the case is simply to point out the way this term is being used so wrongly.

Another problem I have with it is how you are very calmly playing say... a certain "box" of the "X" variety with your friends online, when a certain 12 year old from a white, suburban section of the U.S. with great family issues starts calling you "gay" or maybe a "fag", both of which in most cases are wrong, but again the problem isn't the use of the word, it's the usage of it as a derrogatory term.

In conclusion to this, gay is not an insult, it's the term by which many describe themselves and do so proudly, these people (and let me make that very clear, PEOPLE) are affected through discrimination by everybody: They can't mary in most places (so much for separation of church and state), people treat them as less and use the name by which they identify as an insult, and why? stupidity mostly, some feel threatened, others are scared but I believe in the so called modern society that we live there is no longer a place for these such behaviours.
